INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· PC with at least Windows NT 4.0
· Data DVDs Version 3.3 (Data DVDs from version 3.22 CAN NOT be used)
· The hard-drive partition which you want to install Elsawin to must be formatted with NTFS (this is due to the large file size) – FAT32 cannot handle files larger than 4GB. If your drive is formatted to FAT32 this is easily converted (do a Google for 'convert FAT32 to NTFS')
Installation of the program:
Please read through the instructions BEFORE you install this software. Take each step carefully – take your time and you shouldn't have any problems.
If at any time during the installation you receive an error message about missing programs, you will find these in the folder "utilities" on the Installation CD. Please install these manually if required.
Make sure you are logged onto your PC as Administrator before starting with the installation.

· Insert Installation CD .

· If disc doesn't Autorun double click on MY COMPUTER, right click on drive containing disc (DVD-RW or similar) and select OPEN.

· Start setup.exe

· Choose setup-language
-
· Click on continue
-
· Agree with the safety references and click on continue

· Very important!! Please enter the name johnnolan – no spaces and in small type

· Click on continue
-
· Choose installation path. If you don't install a main path you might experience errors during the Data Setup.

· Click on continue
-
· Choose the car makes of the DVDs you have
-
· Click on continue
-
· Click on install
-
· Choose your installation language and click on next
-
· It might take a little while until you receive a welcome window
-
· Click on continue
-
· Choose the top option in this window (REPAIR OPERATIONS LIST)

· Click on OK
-
· Choose your installation language and click on next
-
· DO NOT change the installation path in this window, just click on next
-
· Choose your program folder and click on next
-
· In the window copying starting click on next
-
· Some waiting time ………………
-
· When you are asked for a code, DO NOT ENTER ANYTHING, close the window (this will be entered at a later stage)

· Click on OK

· Click on finish
-
· If the setup requires a restart, please do so
-
· Start setup_2.exe
-
· Choose setup language
-
· Click on next
· If you have no SVG-Viewer installed on your PC you can now install the "Adobe SVG Viewer 3.0" (SVG Viewer is the program needed to view the wiring diagrams)
· Click on finish
Installation of data : INSERT DATA DVD and install (please double click on yellow file and look for setup.exe if DVD doesn't autorun)
· Start the Elsawin administration
· Username - admin
· Password - admin
OPEN RELEASE
· In the task bar menu click on "services" (top left) then choose "code" then "code request"
· The series of numbers in the top box are your provisional code. In the empty box below enter your final code (see below).
· For your final code enter your provisional code BACKWORDS (i.e. in reverse order) and click on OK
· If you receive an error message during this, you probably have not started the setup_2.exe
USER CONFIGURATION
A new user without administration rights has to be created, otherwise you will experience problems with the service plans
· In menu "service" choose "create user"
· You can choose any name and password for this and click on next (remember these)
· In the next window DO NOT choose administrator, just click on next
· In window "setup four" enter 123 by importer and 12345 by dealer and choose standard company
· Click "next"
· In the next window click on next
· Click finish
· Click finish
· You can now exit the admin programme and start Elsawin from the desktop shortcut (login with your own username and password) Now a pop up window appears. Please scroll down and agree to the disclaimer - otherwise access to the data will be denied.
FAQ'S
*Always deny permission if program asks to connect to internet
*During the installation I receive error message: - Cannot create file that already exists
Go to control panel and uninstall elsawin. Then browse to c:\elsawin and manually delete the folder. Reboot, then re-install elsawin
*After entering the VIN number I receive the error from elsawin section barred!! - Please enter vehicle type, model,year and transmission and press OK
*Please note if you are advised that this is only the 30 DAY VERSION when program has been fully installed you have made an error when installing. PLEASE REINSTALL and follow each part carefully step by step. If the instructions are followed correctly the program will become fully open at the USER CONFIGURATION stage.
*Should you receive an error message when entering the name DO NOT send and email given on the installer
*Problem – Constantly Trying to connect to Internet -After entering details DO NOT press START QUERY – press OK ( top)
*Problem – Language is German even when English was selected – Make sure that you open the program ELSAWIN and not ELSAWIN ADMIN (this is only used at the installation stage) – Also make sure that you login with your own newly created username and password and not with 'admin' as username and password as this defaults to German – this is used only for installation purposes.
*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF ELSAWIN BEFORE INSTALLING THIS VERSION
CLICK ON THE CAR ICON ON THE TOOLBAR OF THE PROGRAM. THEN ENTER YOUR CAR DETAILS SUCH AS VIN NUMBER OR SELECT THE CAR, REG, ENGINE, ETC BY THE DROP DOWN MENUS
IF ADDITIONAL INFO ON YOUR CAR IS REQUIRED FOR CERTAIN AREAS RED STAR WILL APPEAR NEXT TO THE ITEM
